Anhui Highways: The Provincial Highway Center held a symposium on rural highway work across the province in 2024.

From November 14th to 15th, the Provincial Highway Center held a symposium on rural road work in Qingyang County, Chizhou City, for 2024. Leaders and technical personnel from the Provincial Department of Transportation, the Provincial Highway Center, transportation bureaus of various cities, and highway (rural road) management agencies attended the meeting. Wang Bo, deputy director of the Provincial Highway Center, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.

The meeting summarized the main progress of rural road construction in the province in 2024, reported on the progress of construction and maintenance projects, and some cities and counties shared their best practices. Representatives exchanged and discussed the progress of rural road work in 2024 and the planned goals for 2025. The meeting pointed out that in 2024, under the strong leadership of the Provincial Department of Transportation, rural road departments across the province implemented the principle of safety first and steady progress, achieving significant results in the construction of "four-good rural roads." Rural road quality improvement and renovation were carried out in an orderly manner, the responsibility of the road chief system was further strengthened, road safety facilities were gradually improved, and the ability to resist risks and prevent risks was significantly enhanced. The meeting required that, facing the new situation and new requirements, rural roads in the province should focus on goals and tasks, and implement "three strengthenings" and "two improvements." This includes strengthening rural road statistics through digital empowerment, strengthening rural road safety through long-term and regular mechanisms, strengthening rural road maintenance with a focus on key areas, improving rural road management through inheritance and innovation, and improving the quality of rural road construction through demonstration and guidance. This will provide a more solid transportation support guarantee for the full-scale implementation of the new round of rural road improvement actions and the "thousand villages leading, ten thousand villages upgrading" project. Prior to the meeting, a site visit was organized, during which participants toured and learned from Qingzhu Road, a scenic tourist route in Qingyang County, and Yousong Road, a quality demonstration road. The delegates highly praised Qingyang County's concept of integrating transportation with tourism and distinctive industries.
